Project/Proposal Summary:
The program seeks to improve the organizational capacity, governance structure, operational efficiency, and strategic vision of selected civil society organizations in Latin America. Through the provision of training and technical assistance, this activity is expected to contribute to USAID's objectives.
Position Summary:
MSI is seeking a Mid-Level Organizational Consultant to provide support to strengthen the organizational capacity, governance structure, operational efficiency and strategic vision of several Civil Society Organizations in Latin America. Assignment duration will equal approximately 2-3 months LOE over the course of a year.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Chief of Party and Senior Technical Advisor to develop Mission, Vision and Strategies for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs);
- Implement and evaluate strategic planning initiatives and organizational assessment to increase the objectives develop by the program;
- Develop activities directed to improve board of directors governance and leadership skills;
- Conduct activities to assess Program Delivery and impact, and provide technical assistance on program Design and Development;
- Coach board members on Strategic Relationships, Strategic realignment and collaboration and Marketing and communications;
- Instruct on specific needs on resources development, fund development, and planning for revenue generating activities;
- Design and implement innovative process to develop internal operations and management, human resources and financial management tools;
- Provide technical assistance on technology and information systems and volunteer recruitment and management procedures.
- Conduct training activities and facilitate events related to core Organization Development (OD), and capacity building activities.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5years of experience in Organization Development (OD);
- Experience with donors, donor projects, development government agencies and NGOs;
- Experience in Public Administration, Civil Society Development, Training and Facilitation;
- Relevant Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred;
- Experience in designing, writing, coordinating, and delivering capacity building initiatives;
- Strong training skills required in NGO Capacity Building
- Prior experience working in Latin America and the Caribbean required;
- Fluency in Spanish required;
- Strong ability to work and collaborate effectively in a team;
- Ability to adapt to an ever-changing, fast-paced environment and solve problems.
