Guidelines to the Selection of Monitoring Instruments, Ricardo Furman, 2002.
This document defines a number of monitoring instruments and sets out criteria for selecting them, whereby two types of instruments are considered: according to their form and to monitoring stage. It also defines and identifies each instrument’s potential and limitations a) for collecting and processing monitoring data, such as formats; checklists; participatory drawings, mappings and graphs, and b) for discussing and reporting on the findings, such as charts, matrices, discussion guidelines and graphs.
